‘Super E® Breath of Fresh Air’ seminars launch in November

Zurich Insurance, Building Homes and the Canadian High Commission are joining forces to bring you the Super E® Breath of Fresh Air seminars on 19th November in London and 20th November in Birmingham.

The seminars will focus on the Canadian Super E® housing system, an energy efficient housing solution. Super E® is the integration of higher levels of insulation, with properly sized mechanical equipment and whole house ventilation. Super E® ensures trouble-free implementation of the new Part L of the Building Regulations. It increases profitability through reduced defects and call backs. It offers clients energy cost savings, high levels of comfort and vastly improved indoor air quality.

The seminars will feature high profile speakers from both Canada and the United Kingdom. From Canada, Oliver Drerup of Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation, housing manufacturer Jeff Armstrong from DAC International and engineer Gary Proskiw from Proskiw Engineering will provide developers, builders and architects with information about the latest Canadian technology, a look at design, life cycle costs and benefits of utilizing Super E®. From the UK, Nick Cuffe of Zurich Insurance Building Guarantees and Richard Lane from Sunley Homes will focus on a UK demonstration house study.

Oliver Drerup of Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation comments “We are looking forward to explaining the rationale behind Super E® and how it can positively affect the housing industry in this country. The Super E® Programme has already enjoyed particular success in Japan, and looks set to do the same in the UK as the interest in energy efficient housing increases from consumers, builders and the government.”

Nick Cuffe of Zurich Insurance comments “Following the inclusion of a chapter on Super E® into our new technical manual, we are pleased to be associated with these seminars and the system which Canada brings to the UK.”

The Canadian industry has developed its skills and understanding of timer frame housing over the last 20 years, culminating in a highly successful design concept and system which can be adapted to the market. While providing homeowners with a durable, economical, healthy and comfortable home which is also environmentally friendly, a Super E® home can reduce space heating costs by up to 30 percent.
