Interhabs UK was established in Inverness, Scotland about 12 years ago and has been involved with the design and construction of many homes throughout Scotland, England and most recently in Ireland.

Oakwood Builders & Joinery Ltd was established in 1963 & now directly
employs over 35 craftsmen/craftswomen and is involved in refurbishments, new
Eco-build and joinery projects. By directly employing all its staff, Oakwood
can offer a turnkey package, including all aspects of planning and design as
well as all the building works, supported by an in-house plumbing and
electrical teams. Oakwood has developed individual career paths with all of
its employees and offers flexible working arrangements thereby encouraging
women to join our team. Oakwood has just completed a number of Super Energy
Efficient homes, built to Canadian standards of insulation and quality. In
addition, recent refurbishment projects have included St George's Cathedral,
London; the former Brazilian Embassy, Rickmansworth; Emmaus Conference
Centre, West Wickham; and numerous period homes in the Thames Valley region.

Oakwood's fully equipped joinery workshop manufactures bespoke joinery using
only timber from certified managed forests. In this way, Oakwood is
contributing towards sustainable development in the 3rd world. In addition,
as part of the company's environmental policy, Oakwood has its own capacity
to produce "Bio-diesel" from waste cooking oil to run its fleet of vans and
to use sawdust waste to heat its buildings.

Oakwood, already recognised as an "Investors in People" company, has
recently won the Henley Business Awards 2004 for Staff & Customer Care, a
National Training Award and a Special National Training Award, the highest
accolade in business training in the UK, placing the company in an elite
group demonstrating staff training excellence. It is the only construction
company to have recieved this Award.
